Spectrum Internet Ultra is a step above, offering max download speeds of up to 500 Mbps. This is a good entry-level package, providing solid speeds for households of moderate internet users, especially those working from home. The Spectrum Internet package is their entry-level plan that offers download speeds of up to 300 Mbps (a recent upgrade from their previous 200 Mbps). Those who primarily spend their TV time watching sitcoms, food shows, dramas and other non-live programming, however, should definitely consider Spectrum TV Essentials. You can’t have Spectrum TV Choice without having a Spectrum Internet plan – luckily, they have multiple options to choose from, with fits for every household or budget. However, the only qualifying cord-cutters should take the small risk of $14.99 per month are those who don't need a live sports fix or need broadcast networks (check out our roundup of the best TV antennas if you need a cheap way to watch those). ![]() Who is Spectrum's streaming service for?Ĭlearly, this service is custom-built for a select group of folks: Spectrum internet subscribers who don't want to pay for a pricey TV package. ![]() Users can compile a "Watch List" to keep track of their favorites, and parents can reign their kids usage in with parental controls.Ī Cloud DVR service is on the horizon for Spectrum TV Essentials, but it hasn't gone live yet. Right now, TV Essentials is more limited than most of the pricier competitors, but it has two special features. Does Spectrum's streaming service offer any special features? Spectrum added its original programming - shows such as L.A.'s Finest and Curfew - to TV Essentials in May. Yes, BBC America, BBC World News and Bloomberg may provide enough news for some, but this service is missing the standard brand-name general news networks. Its selection also leans heavy on Verizon-owned channels (including BET, CMT, MTV and Nickelodeon), omitting Disney-owned channels such as ABC, the FX networks, and National Geographic TV. Rutledge's comments, Spectrum TV Essentials is focused on the set of channels classified as "entertainment." This means it's missing many popular news channels (CNN, MSNBC, FOX News) and doesn't have any sports channels (say bye-bye to the likes of ESPN, FS1 and beIn Sports). While that count is much higher than what you get from DirecTV Now or PS Vue (both "more than 45") and Sling TV (around 30), Spectrum's channel selection is particularly limited.Īs you might guess from Mr. TV Essentials includes more than 60 channels, including some big names, such as AMC, Comedy Central, Food Network and HGTV. Spectrum Streaming service channels: what can you watch? Surprisingly, the Spectrum TV app is only supported by Amazon's Fire tablets, but not its Fire TV sticks or Fire TV Cube (just read the customer reviews to see the rage about that lack of support). You can also watch the service via web browsers, where it requires Flash. Its Spectrum TV app is on iPhones and Androids, Samsung Smart TVs, Roku and Xbox One. Spectrum TV Essentials is available on a wide array of devices, with a glaring exception. How can I watch Spectrum's streaming service? So, if you're looking for ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC, or the many ESPN and Fox Sports networks, you'll need to look elsewhere. Yes, TV Essentials doesn't include those TV broadcast networks and sports programs that are often credited for the rising costs of streaming services. "As we began to assemble the rights for this new video service, we received great enthusiasm and encouragement from these key programming partners, … Notably, Viacom shared its strong belief and research that suggests there is a large untapped opportunity for a low-priced, entertainment-only bundle unencumbered by the high cost of broadcast retransmission consent fees and expensive sports programming.” I'm typically loathe to quote telecommunication company executives, but this bit from Charter Chairman and CEO Tom Rutledge, published in the press release announcing Spectrum TV Essentials, explains it all: How can Spectrum TV Essentials be so … cheap? Galaxy A55: Softwareīoth the Galaxy A35 and the Galaxy A55 naturally run One UI 6 (review), which is based on Android 14. Incidentally, the reference to optical image stabilization in the press release reads as if this is also new-but don't be fooled, the 2023 models in the Galaxy A class were also capable of this. Sounds a bit like there's not much new to report here, but we'll need the detailed tests to give us the final answer. Everything also remains the same at the front, which means that we have a 32 MP selfie shooter on the A55 and 12 MP on the Galaxy A35.įor the Galaxy A55, Samsung refers in its press release to the AI-supported image signal processing (ISP) and the improved "Nightography" function to describe the improvement over the previous year. The rest-12 MP ultra-wide-angle on the A55, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle on the A35, and 5 MP macro on each-greets us with a yawn from the year 2023. This is also available in the A35, which increases the number of megapixels in this case from 48 to 50 MP compared to the Galaxy A34. In sober numbers, this means that the Galaxy A55 has a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization and f/1.8 aperture. ![]() Because even though I understand and approve of the idea of product care, I would have liked Samsung not to use almost exactly the same cameras as last year. Honestly? My first thought was actually to insert a tumbleweed GIF here instead of text about the cameras of the two models. The Samsung Galaxy A35 is also indistinguishable from the A55 when it comes to the cameras. We don't see much spectacular on the connectivity front: both offer Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and of course NFC. Samsung is therefore focusing on security and ensuring that important data such as your PIN is better protected by a secure environment that is separate from the main processor and memory. Incidentally, Samsung is making very prominent mention of the Knox Vault, which is making its way into the mid-range. Again, please be patient until the final test, which will give us more clarity.Īnother look at the hardware reveals the memory options: Both models offer us the choice between 128 and 256 GB of memory expandable via microSD, whereby the small memory variant of the Galaxy A35 is equipped with 6 GB of RAM, while the rest comes with 8 GB of RAM. According to Geekbench 6, GPU performance actually increases by a whopping 31 percent. The A55, on the other hand, is equipped with the new Exynos 1480, which should significantly boost performance, especially in terms of graphics. Is Samsung thinking something by not explicitly naming its own Exynos processor for either the A55 or A35? Be that as it may, we find the Exynos 1380 in the Galaxy A35, which still powered the Galaxy A54 last year. The AMOLED panels have a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 px, offer a refresh rate of 120 Hz, but are now up to 1,000 nits bright. Surprise, surprise-almost everything remains the same on the display. The Samsung Galaxy A35 and A55 offer you identically sized AMOLED displays. Both devices are also available in four colors-Awesome Iceblue, Navy, Lilac and Lemon-with Lilac and Lemon apparently offering quite interesting color gradients. ![]() The design language has not changed, so the three floating camera elements arranged one below the other remain. ![]() Both also come with a glass back, although Samsung only mentions Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the A55. Presumably, this is due to the frame, as the Galaxy A55 uses a metal frame for the first time, while the A35 sticks to plastic. Why is there such a difference in weight between the models, which are both IP67-certified and equipped with a 6.6-inch display? The Galaxy A35 is barely noticeably longer and wider, but identically thin (8.2 mm) and four grams lighter than the A55. ![]() If I then compare the Galaxy A35 and the Galaxy A55 with each other, I find. Because when I compare the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 with the new models, I can hardly see any visual differences. Whew, Samsung-you're not making it easy for me. BlueDevil Rear Main Sealer is guaranteed to stop the leak or drip from your rear main seal without the costly repair bill. Often times these forums will include other people’s experiences with similar repairs to the one you are facing and can help estimate the cost.īefore you go to Google looking for the appropriate forum, try heading to and checking out BlueDevil’s line of automotive stop leak products. If you’ve discovered you need a rear main seal replacement and are trying to determine a fair price for the job, consider finding an online automotive forum specific to your make and model car, for example. Many garages do not have this equipment on hand, and the ones that do often charge a premium for them.Īll of these things put together make replacing a rear main seal a very expensive ordeal that often will leave your vehicle at the repair shop for days or even weeks. In order to properly complete this job a garage would have to have a transmission jack, engine hoist and engine stand. It’s called the rear main seal because it seals the rear of the crank shaft where it bolts to the transmission. The rear main seal is what seals the crankshaft to the engine block and keeps engine oil from leaking out around the crank. Often with a rear main seal leak the engine has to be removed from the vehicle to replace the seal. In the case of a rear main seal leak, many specialty tools can be required. So before you bring a big job to a garage make sure they have the right tools for the job. ![]() To help keep costs down, many garages will only keep on hand certain tools, especially when it comes to large equipment. In my experience there can be quite a discrepancy from one mechanic to another in how much a job will cost to fix the problem. Getting a second opinion can be frustrating and driving all over town looking for the repair shop that will give you the best price can be time consuming. Unless you do all of your own maintenance on your vehicles, you’ve probably been to a garage where you got an estimate on a repair and just had to wonder if they were ripping you off, over charging you or replacing things that really didn’t need to be fixed. Repair costs are often difficult to accept and understand. Many people are first exposed to the stories of light novels through their anime adaptations. I want to stick with all these shows but Youji Senkei is ny most likely one to drop.(pictured: Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) I see potential in Masamune-Kun and Seiren. So I hope all the shows go well and what I like stays good and what I don’t gets better. Youjo Senkei is hilarious in the sense that it’s a loli at war but the first episode did not introduce the concept at all! ![]() But the first episode was so plain and sort of dull that I am unsure there will be anything exciting here outside of the character designs. The concept it fine but I don’t like how it’s been presented so far.įor I really don’t know we have Seiren which I certainly hope will be good and give some cute & spicy romantic situations. Masamune-kun’s Revenge annoyed me on a base level, but in a way it’s an accurate reflection of high school. Idol Jihen has a funny concept with idols running for the office but the premiere was rushed and showed little potential. We have an adult lead for one and this was an amusing kick off, Tooru is quite amusing.įor not so good we have Schoolgirl Strikers, which did nothing wrong but also nothing worth remembering outside of some great well animated action scenes. Miss Kobayashi’s Maid Dragon, the first time Kyoto Ani has done something like this in a while. It has good themes and though I don’t expect very much I hope it hit some of the same feelings as Long Riders, just with better production. Minami Kamakura High School Girls Cycling Club has one of the laziest titles ever but damn this episode looked niced. A wacky show about angels and demons in moe girls, should be good. Gabriel DropOut was very funny and I like the cast already. ![]() The best aspect is the setting which is old timey and makes it stand out as something other than a high school show, even if it’s still young girls learning or working towards something. Urara Meirochou had a very nice tone and artstyle with some good slice of life themes. The first two episodes were very enjoyable and it has a main dude who is actually good for once! Nice. The show stands as a very unique anime this season in terms of feel and overall production.įor good fun we have Akiba’s Trip which will be the amusing sort of otaku type good time ecchi. I expect nothing else from Trigger at this point. Little Witch Academia has a stunning debut with fantastic animation, a lot of movement and an overall great tone. So happy to see a mature show like this, I hope it will be even 1% as good as White Album 2. Scum’s Wish is looking to be a great romance with heartache and drama inbound. This should be more of the same greatness. The animation was cruder than normal but that’s one of the series’ charms. It was a great reintroduction to the series with some twists and great jokes. So for great promise we have Konosuba 2 at number 1. Minami Kamakura High School Girls Cycling Club ![]() Again we’re missing BanG Dream! but I don’t have great patience sometimes.ħ. I will do my ranking based off first (and in Akiba’s case second) episodes. Honestly this season looks great for me, so many shows appeal to my taste and with the promise of a good romance series, plus a sequel to a show I highly enjoyed and lots of moe cute girls slice of life…this could be a very good season, certainly better than the last two. Aside from BanG Dream! which is still a week off, all 13 shows I would like to roll with have aired. Oh ya Winter anime premieres, let’s rank them.
